I really doubt anyone here can play high level ST.

Still, I think Japanese and US ST is hugely different. In Japan a lot of people who still play have literally been playing since 94 or at the least the 90's, they stick by whoever they originally mained and you see huge variety in characters. With US ST a large portion of the people playing are 09ers or even younger and picked up ST later on. They pick up the game with preset knowledge of what is good or bad, and thus everyone basically just chooses Boxer/Claw/Chun/Ryu since almost abything else is a pain in the ass to learn and use.

I don't play ST myself but as a povertfag we I can tell you a lot of us would never try to tell you these games aren't broken or unbalanced, we just enjoy them regardless.

I would probably say Capcom overall for me but both are excellent. I appreciate Capcom and how they experimented with weird stuff like Cyberbots, Red Earth, Rival Schools but the fact SNK found a formula that worked and tried to just work off that is cool in itself. Both have a lot of fun characters but I think Capcom beats SNK in that department. I think KoF has better designs then SF but Capcom's other series just have too good of designs.

Ironically I'm not even huge on either SF or KoF. I prefer Darkstalkers and Samurai Shodown myself.
