Probably has foam rot like the ones from the XM29 I parted out. It happens a lot with speakers in arcade cabinets and vintage stereo speakers too, to my understanding.

My understanding is you can easily replace them with something like a modern 2.1/5.1 computer speaker set. I personally just run all my source audio to an external Yamaha amplifier (since the BVMs I have don't have an audio amplifier anyways). I definitely need to touch up the cable management though.
