It will always tickle me pink that the best classic Beat Em Up was not an arcade game, but a console exclusive

What are the best console Beat Em Ups? This was my favorite as a kid, but outside of it and Golden Axe and a little bit of Turtles In Time I realize I actually never played too many others

If SOR2 is your favorite beat 'em up, it just means you're a casual

I'm sure there are other ways this game is super easy, but these are just the ones I know. It is a rightful classic for music and graphics, and it certainly plays better than either Golden Axe games, but I feel like there's also a casual contingent as to why it's so revered.

Batman Returns on SNES is a harder, more quality beat 'em up.

What makes Streets of Rage 2 so glorified as a classic?
I mean it's a good game and it plays well, but what did it do to deserve such consistent high praise for everyone?
