It simply adds more precision to steering. You can hit a perfect curve and really hug corners. I bought it for Ridge Racer because I'm a huge fan, and it works very well. I wouldn't say it's a drastic improvement over any other form of control though. Skill is always what's most important. First time I tried the NeGcon I swore I was never going back to the PlayStation d-pad, but the d-pad is perfectly acceptable, and might actually be better for drifting, especially for precision cars with short drift frames.
