I didn't say the game can't be enjoyed and it has nothing to do with my ego. Why don't you tell me what YOU think is the point of telling someone to start with the first game on a long series like this? Why is that a good place for a newcomer to start? Do you disagree that it's very unlikely this person is going to play through ALL the King's Quests? Of course that feeling is just my feeling, but I think if someone was really determined to do so they wouldn't be the type of person to come on 4chan asking where to start. They would just do it on their own.

All I'm saying is that time is precious and if I want someone to get the best taste of what a series has to offer I'm going to recommend the best game instead of insisting they start with #1 for plot reasons or historical relevance or whatever. If they want to learn about the origins of a genre, sure, start with the first.
