It's actually not difficult to win it all, if you really need to you can create a custom character designed to eliminate opponents and build spirit fast. I used to win that mode all the time on non-1 revisions because save data would reset, and it was the quickest way to earn everything back.

The updated version that doesn't do that has a USA-1 at the end as you can see with the one on the lower right. Back then you had to send in to THQ for the patch, now the patches for the game can be more easily downloaded.
