I just played TMNT for the first time in years. I had a pretty smooth sailing for the first 4 levels but had to check out all 3 sewers to find the fucking Technodrome in level 5, ALL 3 of them. Well, I was able to beat it but the last level inside it... let's just say it didn't well, I quickly went through all lives and continues and I RAGEd hard for the first time in years.

I have to say that actually felt good and I have missed that feeling. Modern games definitely don't give you that feeling. Thanks 4chan for being down/frozen today and actually making me play video games for once.

After reading this thread and doing a quick research session I'm stunned about the sheer shittiness of PAL conversations.

Next I saw various internet pages claim that Square tried to pass the god-awful PAL version of FFX as a “special widescreen edition” back in day. Can anyone here confirm this?

Bad PAL conversions still seems to be out there on Wii Virtual Console, NoE figured that they wouldn't need to modify the European VC ROMs to run in full-screen and at a proper speed. Emulators have been able to do this for years, and yet the ones responsible for it at Nintendo think that we WANT to play the inferior versions of the games we got back in the 80s and 90s. At least, that's their official explanation for doing it that way.

Finally the worst part is that even back in the 90s we paid MORE for shittier version of the games since we didn't know any better.
