You had outside help, though. The game will never tell you to do that. It's unbeatable without having that told to you. Therefore, it's misleading to encourage people to beat it with no outside help. Eventually he would either quit or look up a guide, so he might as well go in knowing he'll need to use one and save himself from hours of mindlessly wandering around for no reason searching for clues ingame on what to do next that don't exist.
