No 4k is the absolute minimum, there are gradients to the R/G/B pixels them self and they never appear uniform in symmetry, color or brightness and then you have to keep in mind the phosphor glow and bloom decay creating even more movement. There is A LOT of detail to what's going on and that's why "scanline" filters always look so jarringly unnatural and shit, better just leave them off and/or go CRT if you want that look for now.
