>I save scummed through it, and even then I was suffering. I’m nowhere near as hardcore as Japanese dudes in the early 90s

Remember that SMT is meant to be a console friendly simplified version of Wizardry meant to be able to be beaten by teenage kids. Even without stun-lock chaining, it's not that hard. Agility is one of the best bang for your buck stats (increases speed, evasion, defense, and gives you more turns).

I didn't save scum through that dungeon. I had a lot of sleep guns so I kept people machine gunned down. And then I used powerful demons in the front row as my brawlers. For the boss, she chewed through most of them.

You know how statuses work right? If someone is charmed they will attack your own allies if they move, so just have them defend.

Yeah that might be the hardest fight. I remember that sleep smg really did a number on these enemies. The effect seems to be waring off though. I like my team comp for this part:

>healer gunslighting mage
>hero Mc.speed-luck
>high HP brawler monsters (all got killed)
>whatever is left finsihed her off

[ERROR]

2nd time around in this fight. The first time on the sfc I was unprepared and had half my team die. This time my dwarf casted defense up x3, half my team was charmed or asleep, so I was only hitting 35-50 damage per round. Not a single person died this time. Got 8 levels out of this when I was done so I was probably underleveeld.

I think it's unevenly scaled from 240 to 160, but the quality of life improvements are immense. I would prefer to play the PS version which has all these same features and 240 resolution, but I can't. Having more variety with backgroudns and a much more useful automap are life changers.
