The GB Boy Colour is the only one (the "Pocket" model has been discontinued for years), but they sell an ass-ton apparently because it's been in production for years and all the sellers still have hundreds and hundreds in stock on AliExpress (don't buy it stateside for 3x the price...). The screen is backlit, but it's an off the shelf part and is squashed vertically (pic related), so things look a little funny, but they're $30. Controls feel good, and the chipset is excellent, it's compatible with even the wildest demos I've thrown at it with my EverDrive. Curiously, there is also a GB/C to SNES adapter that has the same hardware, which is neat —but it's got its own lousy composite video out, rather than passing through the SNES.

While this is largely true, IPS mods are still good for actually playing the games if you want that experience. I keep my OG Pocket un-modded and use a GB Boy Colour as my main machine, how's that for obnoxious?

GB Boy would be perfect for Qix on the toilet. Yeah the screen is a little squashed, but they're cheap. I use mine mainly for Game Boy Camera shooting. Pic is of my GBBC, for an idea of how the screen looks.

It's a fucking nightmare to mod, and costs about 10x what a GB Boy does pre-modded
>>4948806
It has like 33 games or something, and a couple don't work. But if you just want to play Tetris and Mario Land, etc, it does the trick.

Hardware, backlit GBC clone, slightly squished display due to using an off-the-shelf screen. Cheap and gets the job done if you don't care enough and/or don't want to shell out for a modded GBA or SP-101.

100% false. If you hate the thing that's OK, but don't lie about it.

They're great for the price. Not amazing, but surprisingly good. Don't listen to >>4750706 the only accurate point he made is the screen being an off-the-shelf part, and thus not a 1:1 GBC replacement. I use mine primarily for taking GB Camera pictures, the backlight is hugely helpful for that. If I have enough ambient light I'd rather use a GBC, but if I don't the GB Boy is my go-to.

RTC is on the cartridge, so yes it works fine. I noticed if I leave the cart in the GB Boy when it's not on the clock will lose time, but it works normally when actually playing. I just remove the cart when I'm done.

Honestly not sure, I've only used the receivers, which are pretty cool. Obviously input lag is a thing, but I mostly play RPGs and can use my otherwise useless Wii U Pro Controllers.

If you buy it from AliExpress and do not pay more than $40 for it, yes. For the bad things; the aspect-ratio is a little squashed, the speaker is wired to only one sound channel (headphones are properly in stereo), the plastic screen protector scratches easily, and the IR port isn't real, but those are the worst parts about it. The screen is actually backlit and bright as hell, it plays GBC-only carts without issue, gets great battery life and the D-Pad, while no Nintendo pad, is easily the best 'Chinese' D-pad I've used. It's a unique device for the price if you want to play GB/GBC games in the dark without ponying up for a modded GBC, or GBA. Also the link cable connector works. I got it primarily to use with the Game Boy Camera, it does the trick. Pic related is mine. I honestly use my Game Boy Pocket far more frequently, but the GBBC is a fine device for its intended price (the markups on eBay and US oriented sites are ludicrous though).

Here's a crappy screenshot showing off the GB Boy Colour I got from AE if anyone is thinking about getting one. I can answer any questions too, I'm pretty impressed overall.
