Alright serious answer this time, Aladdin and Vectorman are commonly recommended as they tend to go for cheap and are legitimately good games. Streets of Rage series is nice if you like beat 'em ups. Columns and Pac-Attack if you like puzzlers. 6-Pak comes with both SoR 1 and Columns. Bio-Hazard Battle is surprisingly cheap if you like shmups. Cool Spot and Earthworm Jim are pretty good, there's also Mick and Mack: Global Gladiators if you really like McDonalds but don't feel like paying for TreasureLand Adventure (imo both games are very good, unironically).

As a Genesis owner I disagree but to each his own

You're good OP don't worry about it lol. Mega SG is still better than buying every game

Super Sonic alone has been compared to DBZ from day one, not counting the other super forms or Sonic CD's dystopian Bad Futures or Metal Sonic Kai who was maybe the first "Monster of the Week"

>Most good Western games for Sega were made by Europeans while SoA was mostly making trash like Sega CD shitty FMV games.
You're close. It was mostly third-party devs like Virgin who kind of dropped off after fourth gen. SoA did however make the Ecco games, Eternal Champions, and Sonic Spinball.

My question to you is, how do you feel about Naoto Ohshima, who designed Sonic CD and Sonic Superstars? Personally I feel like SEGA CD (and possibly the 32X) had a lot more potential for Sonic games than Saturn did. In the long run it kind of feels like Ohshima cared a little more than Naka did.

>I can never go back to 1998 an re-experience the joy of sitting in my parents’s living room with my brother or cousin while unboxing the PS1/N64/Saturn and playing some of the most memorable games known to man.
Can you? It's not impossible, you know...

It was very cool to see his name in the credits of the Sonic 1 movie since they use the Green Hill Zone theme a lot in that. What I don't understand is why SEGA hasn't just bought the rights to all of his music, it's weird to see the actual Sonic 1/2 theme return in Generations and then just disappear again. I also wish he was just on better terms with SEGA in general. If Jun can still work on the games there's no reason Nakamura can't. Would be nice to see him return for once like Ohshima did

Also, forget everyone who thinks Naofumi Hataya and Michael Jackson were the best Sonic composers. Nakamura and Jun are where it's at (and Spencer Nelson, of course

Literally just Google it, it's not even that obscure

It's Genesis, Genesis does what Nintendon't

https://youtu.be/k7nsBoqJ6s8

The term still applies to SEGA in general, but it was meant for the Genesis

There is an entire general on /vg/, though a good percentage of it is /co/ users and silliness. Sonic was one of my first games growing up along with stuff like SMW and DKC. My current favorite is probably Sonic CD. I still remember playing Sonic 1 for hours when I first got my Genesis with 6-Pak, playing Sonic 2 for the first time at my cousin's house (he let me keep the cartridge), going to the store and buying Sonic 3 with some money my parents gave me, and getting Sonic & Knuckles for Christmas probably the same year.

I like both 2D and 3D Sonic, Classic, Modern, w/e. To quote James Rolfe I've never played a truly bad Sonic game, for the most part.

I actually enjoyed this one a lot. I really lik the sense of speed compared to Daytona and SEGA Rally. People rarely talk about it too despite being a first party title. Good taste anon

The last few Sonic games had animated openings, I want to say some of the Arc System Works games still do this but idk
