/vr/ - Retro Games

So I thought I was finally getting somewhat competent at Super Columns, and out of curiosity decided to look at "Story Mode." This game is evil.

Overall I'd say that while I think Tetris is better, Columns is a pretty solid alternative and it takes good advantage of the GG's color screen. My favorite non-Tetris puzzle game is still Lumines but that's a modern game.

>Get Sega Game Gear and Super Columns
>Play story mode
>this is gonna be a piece of cake
>Up against this fucker
>Sand keeps raising on my end
>Quickly dying
>Die multiple times
>Spend so long trying to beat him
>Keep dying
>Finally beat this guy once after so many attempts
>Turns out it's a best out-of-three battle
>My once gleeful face turned into a mixture of shock and disbelief
>Quickly lose from the shock
>Never got close to beating him again

I still can't beat this asshole.
