Shit wouldnt have ever been this retarded if everyone stayed on niche retro gamer oriented hives instead of going on some open video platform and gushing about stuff to norms who never had any interest in this stuff, but caught the "trendy, nerdy hype" bug when they say some maw gaping lardo spewing on about old games. You would have had the occasional wave of nostalgia seekers and those actually interested in playing retro games would have naturally found their way into the hobby and groups.
