I mentioned my TV some posts above >>3539812 and so it appears that it simply doesn't have scanlines. Follow up questions on this:

1. If my TV doesn't have scanlines because it's low-level (aka cheap), how come it's the high-end ones the ones that have scanlines? As I understand, scanlines exist because 240p needs to fit on 420p TVs, which means having to put horizontal lines in between "real" lines so that the content occupies the whole screen. To me that sounds like an undesirable thing to have, which confuses me because why would a high-end TV not "fix" that (as in, they have scanlines), but low-levels TV do?

2. Assuming what I know about the purpose of scanlines to be correct, what's going on with my TV? If the content is actually outputted at 240p, how come it fills the whole thing? Is it duplicating colored lines instead of adding black ones?

3. As I mentioned, I had a Sony 32'' TV many years ago. I loved that thing. I also do not remember it having scanlines. Is this probable? What are the chances of a Sony TV not having scanlines? Trying to see if it's my memory or I simply have never played with scanlines.

4. Given that I want to replicate what I have on this small CRT on a HDTV through shaders, do you know what I'd need? I know it has round corners, no scanlines, but what else should I imitate? How do I call these... uhmm... noticeable "RGB dots" that draw eveyrthing, so I can search for shaders that have them?
