>certain elements in games have more neutral representation
AKA Warriors of Social Justice demanding Social "Justice" even in fictional games. Every demand for censorship comes down to making something more "neutral" (more neutral about religion, neutral about sex, neutral about violence, neutral about politics, neutral about depictions of alcohol, etc.).

>not only pander to straight men
Thankfully there are plenty of games that don't exclusively do that. You seem upset that developers make what they want, or things that players want though.

>essjay boogieman is just the free market
No it's not. It's people mad that the free market doesn't work in their favor, so they use whining, nagging, smear campaigns, propaganda, favoritism, and sometimes threats and legislation to change that.

>not the same as "think of the children"-type talk
Yeah actually it's worse. At least the "think of the children" people are legitimately worried that games will corrupt their children since kids are easily malleable and influencable, and they shouldn't be exposed to adult material. Meanwhile if we're supposed to believe what you say, SJWs only want more "neutral" content so less people are offended by them and will therefore spend more money on commercial products.

But the truth as they're most alike, they just think things make people sexist/racist instead of "corrupting children". At least the "think of the children" people don't force their shit everywhere and try to change entire cultures with their bullshit.

>it's not censorship
If content gets censored, it is censorship. The OP is a good example of it, the reason behind it doesn't change what it is.

>shutting them up to maintain gaming trope norms is though
>asking content to be removed isn't wanting censorship, but asking people to stop demanding content to be removed is
Great mental gymnastics.
