n64's picture was just so blurry, the textures were small, they were 3-point trilinear filtered and then a full screen hardware 8x-esque anti-aliasing filter was put on top
perspective-correct texture mapping and floating point precision was certainly very nice, but man is it not pleasant to look at such a blurry picture
i'm sure some people will prefer the technically more correct/realistic N64 picture, but i'll take the high res/sharp look of the psx any day

N64 version looks like blurry ass as usual.

I couldn't stand the blurriness inherent in N64 games.

2X on the Xbox is the best version (it has a shitload of levels, including all of the original THPS), but you said consoles, as in plural, which is wrong because you are retarded.

The only other consoles that THPS2 was released on were the PS1 and the N64. The PS1 version is solid, but the N64 version is blurry ass with a butchered soundtrack and is nigh unplayable with the godawful N64 controller (pic is from THPS3, but you get the idea).

On a side note, the GBA THPS games were pretty awesome. They ditched 3D for an isometric view that surprisingly worked out really well. Only downside was that the control scheme suffered a little due to the GBA only having two buttons for some stupid reason.

DC version is nice because it's super easy to replace the .adx files on burned copies so you can replace the soundtrack with converted .mp3s if you want. The Xbox version still triumphs on account of the custom soundtrack feature though.

Yeah, a lot of N64 games ran at subpar resolutions. So did a lot of PS1 games, but there were some interesting examples of the same game across both consoles having a pretty big difference in resolution, such as THPS3, pictured here. It ran at 512x240 on PS1, and something like 256x224 (interpolated to 512x224 as the N64 always does, hence the added blur) on the N64.

Don't have a Mega Man Legends comparison handy, but have a Tony Hawk 3 one instead, using LLE pixel-accurate (albeit upscaled) graphics on both.

Not really. Mednafen is also fully LLE, and there's a couple LLE software renderers for PS1 (edgbla's gpuBladeSoft and Exophase's NEON GPU plugin).

On N64, both Jabo and ziggy created LLE plugins, but they are quite buggy. Then there's the MESS/Angrylion/Cen64 LLE RDP, which is pixel-accurate, but it is horrendously slow.

Have a comparison between LLE PS1 and N64 graphics.
