Picrel: "High Test" Rockman. I think the art-style is genuinely manly here. Even as primitive as it is, you can sense the heroism.

But I like the Z-series art. I think Inafune's intentions were less "good boy heroism" and more "amoral 80's rock and roll violence". I think this was the original intention behind the X-Series as a reboot of Rockman, and I think this was, again, the intention behind the Z-Series.

All of them (in all the action platformer subseries) plus many romhacks and fan games. Megaman is the ultimate gaming comfort food.
