DD3NES kinda sucks, but the difficulty is overrated. It's pretty easy to breeze through the first four stages by spamming Billy or Jimmy's Cyclone Spin Kick.

Anyway, pic related, is the best reason why DD2NES was better.

The only reason I never skipped the opening of Double Dragon II.

I never skipped the opening to Double Dragon 2 because of her.

Since I never bothered reading the text (or I didn't know yet) when I was kid, I never realized Marian was being killed on the OP until much later. I always assumed they were just kidnapping her like in the first game and then you just find her sleeping on the bad guy's lair.

If they killed a piece of ass like Marian, I would've been out there seeking revenge too. I'm guessing that's why the NES version brought her back to life, lol.

The only reason why I never skipped the opening of Double Dragon II: The Revenge.

I'm kinda surprised they allowed Marian to show her middriff in the western version after they went through the trouble of retouching the art.

I always liked staring at Marian at the opening of Double Dragon 2 for the NES. Even though she's supposedly being killed at this scene, I always assumed they were just kidnapping her like they did the fist time since I always skimmed the text or didn't know how to read yet.
