Honestly, it was a little while after G/S came out. I bought Silver and enjoyed it, especially getting to go back to Kanto. But I was losing interest in it. It was a mixture of getting older and the new pokemon that made me ultimately quit. I was at the right place/right time for Red & Blue. I was in 3rd grade, subscribed to Nintendo Power, received the cheesy pokemon "promotional" videotape that had weird actors posing as Ash's family and friends while advertising the toys,anime,cards, and gameboy games. Shit was rad, and I was all in and eating it up. I just always personally felt that Pokemon lost it's significance to me when It went beyond the original 150/151 and also the feeling of aging out it.
