/vr/ - Retro Games

I got my 1-Chip SNES in the mail on Monday. It was pretty dirty, smelled of second-hand smoke and needed a new AC adapter plate. I took it apart, washed all the plastic and buffed away a bunch of black streaks and various stains. Thankfully there is no yellowing plastic on it and it cleaned up really well. I swapped out the AC adapter plate for the one from my original SNES (I'll buy a new plate eventually for my old SNES, but that unit is pretty ugly due to a botched retrobrite job unfortunately). The broken AC plate works but I wouldn't trust it long-term.

I'll be taking some game screenshots on my Trinitron TV soon. I'm quite pleased with how it looks compared to my old unit. I went back and forth between several games and the old SNES definitely looks softer and blurrier compared to the 1-Chip, though that would be kind of hard for me to catch with photos and probably isn't worth it.
