My problem with HDest wasn't so much the wokeness itself than it was technological or even design-oriented. I can easily remove a piece of text, but optimizing the code or otherwise refactoring it to be less shit is a completely different story. The autistic fit was the result of three years of steady decline in sanity from having to deal with more than questionable development decisions (among personal reasons), usually leading to broken mods for no particular reason other than "lmao let's change this class name because it's more politically/morally correct." HDMarine -> HDOperator anyone? No, I am not shitting you, look up the commit message. The fork got made after the recasts update which didn't outright "fail-to-launch" break some some of my mods, but it's a long technical explanation as to why it's wrong so I'm only gonna bother explaining it if anyone actually cares about autistic details.

The exact thing I am referencing is the smarter enemies which at one point become straight up bullshit. Example. Two days ago I watched a friend's stream where a mancubus teleported in and IMMEDIATELY lit his ass on fire. It's not even a matter of git gud when the enemies have omniscience and know where you are 24/7 and force you to play the quickload game. It generally plays well until it becomes an RNG-based trial and error making it past a room. I can't tell you if that's intentional or a side effect or even a bug in how the AI works.

I can certainly see how stupid all this looks from an outside perspective with little to no context. It's just some faggot losing his shit to some other faggot making a change. There's far more to it than that. My patience as a developer simply ran out, on top of community issues.
