Actually seems pretty spot on.
The whole game feels theatrical. Even the set-pieces/prerendered backgrounds seem almost like sets.

FFIX is my absolute gem. The perfect JRPG imo. Trance bullshit aside.
Bouncing 4 black magic spells off your reflected party with Vivi and hitting the enemy for huge damage is my favorite technique in the game.
Looks cool, sounds cool, and makes Vivi the real powerhouse of the game. Especially under his trance.

Overall the game feels really comfortable. I legitimately want to live in Lindblum. Though Dali would likely be nicer.

I - One I started with, good, very simple and buggy, and difficult
II - Good story, remakes fix problems
III - FFV testing its waters
IV - Like FFI with a story and better visuals and effort
V - Cute, FFTactics testing its waters
VI - Depressing, lesser quality version of FFIV
VII - All around good game, though it has aged visually, love the Materia system
VIII - Excellent IMO, junctioning, music, visuals, card game, difficulty in some spots
IX - Flawless to me. Does everything better than any other game, except the card game. My fave
X - Charming, engrossing world to explore, but too linear to be excellent
XII - it sucks however-
XII IZJS - It's wonderful, awesome stuff, and the last good title in the series
XIII - absolute shit
