That's something I've thought about in fiction before rhetorically: if the work in question takes place in a time/location where the medium it's presented in (books, movies, video games etc) exists, is it possible that the exact same work of fiction that details all of the events in the story exists in that story's universe? Like how there's a Double Dragon arcade cabinet in the Double Dragon movie?

And if it's a live action movie that takes place in a universe where real life actors could possibly exist, do the actors that play the movie's characters also exist in this universe as well? For example if there's actually a Keanu Reeves in the universe of The Matrix, or if Jim Carrey also exists in the universe of the Ace Ventura movies. Really it's just junk food for thought though, if anything.

Pic related, btw

I've never seen a kid so hopelessly crippled by nostalgia over such an insigificant forgotten game. Hell it's not even 'forgotten' lol. Nobody EVER gave a shit about N64 Quake 2 and nobody ever will despite how hard you keep trying to meme it into relevance. Funny stuff though, carry on.
