So I just bought a Dreamcast off Ebay and wish to burn my games? Any exact method to this or is it quite basic?

Also what are some of the essentials for the console?

I do not really understand why the dreamcast is banned from this board. It is not popular in any other board, is hardly talked about anywhere, has some really great under appreciated games. To me it really makes no sense.

Are there any downsides to buying a PAL Dreamcast? I'm Swedish, and there's an auction on a Swedish version on Ebay selling one for cheap. I know how to pirate on and region swap the thing (it's a "1" model, that's a pirate-friendly one, right?), but is it compatible with NTSC/NTSC-J peripherals and other stuff? Any other drawbacks? I do wish the PAL version had the orange swirl logo though.

I've heard a lot of good things about it.
I haven't heard too many cons, (correct me if I'm wrong) but it has a few connection problems at times, and a lot of its library was either not worth playing, or has been ported to something better
The connection problems are understandable, since it's over 10 years old and shit
But what do you guys think?

What are the essential Dreamcast games?

So I've decided to get a Dreamcast. Only problem is, I don't know which model to purchase. I live in Europe, so I the logical thing to do would be to get a PAL one, but does it have shortcomings aside from the blue logo when compared to the NTSC-U and NTSC-J versions? Can it do 60Hz and support VGA cables and other Dreamcast peripherals/add-ons?

Also, is it special when it comes to modding, compared to the JP and US versions? The #1 priority is to be able to play games from other regions (SO many JP exclusive games), and put other programs and emulators and stuff on it. Like, is it more difficult/different to mod? Another thing, which "generation" of DCs should I buy from? I heard the initial models' lasers break down easily when you play burned games on it, and the later versions have anti-piracy measures.
