Yes, as I said the PC-Engine version has less gore.

The Sega-CD version is definitely the best version, but the other versions have interesting differences and once OP finishes the Sega CD one, if he still hasn't had enough he might want to play through the others while the correct story progression is fresh in his mind then finally check out SD-Snatcher, a JRPG retelling.

Had a Spectrum and Amiga growing up, though it's recently dawned on me that the MSX utterly kicks ass. Almost as good Konami exclusives as the NES, some fun obscurities and RPGs, and DAT SCC CHIP.

The way battles play out is far, far ahead of its time. Nothing like disabling enemies abilities to move and fire by taking out their weapons/legs, then going in for the kill.
