Practice your dynamite throwing.
The flare gun does damage over time so dont blow 5 rounds into a single enemy, itll take a single flare to kill a cultist and two to kill a zombie on the higher difficulties.
Alt fire is very useful for most weapons.
Learn how to move to lessen the impact of hitscanners, in Build unlike in Doom crouching and how fast you are going does enable you to avoid getting hit by them
