Most common plot motif in blizzard games is the conflict with characters who are unyielding traditionalists. Literature in general is disproportionately about those 3 times in 100 where something's come up and the realpolitik is inferior to some random brainlet's idealism.

Just once, I'd like to see the traditionalists suddenly and unexpectedly kick the reformers' asses into last week but it will never happen because all this shit is written in California.
