I said Rent A Hero because that's what I'm playing atm and it requires per-pixel to get rid of some really obvious graphical glitches, but desu it seems to be an issue in virtually every game I try. For instance, I just tried Sonic Adventure 1, and it's an issue there on the title screen and while playing through the first action stage (Azure Coast). It's an issue when I tried starting a game of Canon Spike. Rez is a complete fucking mess. Basically if you could try playing around in the first stage of any of these games, whether or not you see any flickering or artifacting like that webm would answer my question.

Alternatively if you don't have any of those DC games, you could list something you do have and whether you have issues while playing with per-pixel on. If not, then I could just check (confirm) on my end that I do while playing the same game.

I was actually asking because I was thinking about buying an Odin 2 if it can run that setting without issues. I don't have one myself.

A Sega Saturn controller handheld PC with a 5.5" 1440p (vertically integer scales 320p, 480p, and 720p) OLED screen, front-firing speakers with assloads of bass and excellent clarity, 10+ hour battery life, good power, lots of kino transparent color options, 1 analog stick on the left side, taken from the new Retroid/Ayn handhelds, and somehow despite all this it's only 200g.

Not the anon that asked, but thanks for the report back and putting the frame counter on. The game on a real Saturn runs at 30fps in gameplay and 60fps during cutscenes. The VDP1 bit is what shows what the game is actually running at, so 20fps with dips to 19 from the sounds of it. To be honest as someone who has played it on a real Saturn, that sounds pretty terrible to me. Even Shinobi Legion dipping only 3-5fps frequently (55-57 fps) on my RK3566 handheld ends up looking pretty choppy to me and ruining the experience.

Fwiw I was curious how Zwei runs on my rk3566 handheld after this post. Most Saturn I've tried runs like shit, but I some like Hyper Duel seem to run okay, and Zwei is actually one of the less demanding games to emulate. In the first stage during gameplay it actually ran well, with some dips during cutscenes. Everything went to shit once I got to stage 2 in the forest, stuck around 25fps and everything was fucking flashing. I could get it back up to 30fps if I enabled compute shader, but that made the ground and background completely disappear while doing nothing about the flashing. I also tried PD Saga and it started alright, but gradually got worse and worse the further I got.

Retard who bought a Win600 despite owning a Deck here, finally got it and holy FUCK it is way smaller than I was expecting which is awesome. It really is a fantastic size for a handheld PC. D-pad feel and location is excellent, ergonomics are good ignoring the stick locations. Shoulder buttons are surprisingly the best digital shoulder buttons I've ever used on a handheld. They're super soft and effortless to press. Surprisingly nice looking screen, and at least for me I prefer the 6" over 7". The speakers as expected aren't as good as the crazy ones in the Deck, and they aren't front firing either which is gay, but in general I still think they're very good speakers and don't leave me wanting for much (haven't tested anything super bass-heavy tho).

If there's an Achilles heel for my use-case, it's probably the weight. It's something like 180g lighter than the Deck, which on paper is fantastic. The problem is weirdly enough the weight distribution in part due to ergonomic differences seems to be a lot better in the Deck. I'm really glad to have my autistic curiosity finally satiated regarding this device, but I'm probably gonna flip it soon because of this.

If what you really want is power rather than being drawn to the formfactor, then yeah it's probably a good idea to wait. KTR1 will probably be out soon, RP4 will probably come out this summer or fall with a D900/comparable chip, RP Flip+ with the same chip will probably be a few months after that, and it sounds like the upcoming Powkiddy Max 3 is gonna have some considerable juice as well. None of these will be perfect for PS2 obviously, but they'll be pretty decent.

There's also already existing GPD XP+ with a D1200 that's pretty close to perfect for PS2, but I wouldn't call it affordable and has a horrific aspect ratio. An upcoming RG506 is supposed to have the same chip and should be a reasonable size with a 5 inch screen, but apparently it will have d-pad on bottom so I've already written it off, and knowing Anbernic I expect the price to suck. Then there's the upcoming Aya Neo Air Pocket and supposedly a Ayn Odin 2 being worked on, but who fucking knows when those will be out or how much they'll cost.

alternatively you can just get a 64gb Deck for 10% off right now and be done with it.

The d-pad placement is definitely better than it was on the Odin, but I still wish it was a little higher + a little closer to the screen. Also a 6" 16:10 instead of 16:9 screen also could've helped a bit with the immense wideness that was in part caused by trying to increase d-pad and right stick ergonomics. FURTHERMORE, did the the bezel's on the left and right of the screen really need to be 2.5x the thickness of the bezels on the top and bottom?

You're right, you're the shining example that maturity isn't defined by biological age anon.
