Japanese uses a syllabary rather than phonetics like in English, so if you have a kana version of the name, it is (almost) trivial to know the correct pronunciation. The only thing kana doesn't tell you is where the tonal stress is (more closely related to pitch than the English concept of stress), but really you only have two options in Tokyo dialect: start low or start high, and then switch to the opposite stress on the next syllable.

So, looking around, we find that in Japanese the name is ジュゲム... which is pronounced Ju-ge-mu, where the 'ge' sound is as in 'get'.

Fuck. Why the hell did it get renamed to lakitu in English??

Oh well, if it was a Japanese word, then the way you would pronounce it would be the way you wrote it out OP: La-key-two

:P
