>What do you like about iwd?
music, in-game sounds (including the voices you can choose, as well as enemy noises), ambiance, some of the environments look really nice (especially kuldahar), I prefer it's designs for the equipment screen and some of it's items (armor, weapons, gem bag, etc) over that of BG's, I like the sparse talking npc's (when you do talk to someone, it feels special) and the feeling of being alone in the past at the far edge of the world, I actually really like mowing through hordes of weaker enemies with a few strong enemies and the occasional difficult boss

it's really not hard, it's just satisfying; it's a very all-around satisfying game to play
sometimes I'll just linger somewhere because of how it looks, sounds, and feels

the two most basic things I enjoy about BG 1/2 is how the sprites and items look, and the simple noises of the game, like equipping various items/casting spells/hitting an enemy, and the voice acting/dialogue is about the best I've seen
When I play a game that doesn't have that, I can really feel the absence.

>Dungeon crawling and gameplay in general is better in Baldur's Gate than in Icewind Dale.
The dungeons in bg2 are more like puzzles/contained adventure scenarios (and more of a chore, IMO) which is truer to D&D, but I generally like the dungeons in IWD better, aesthetically if nothing else (though some are plenty bad). I always look forward to the early vale of shadows, severed hand, and upper dorn's deep.
