I’m on the first dark world dungeon. Where does the fun start?

Literally any shmup of bemup. I swear to god people on here are all either just zoomers who have this weird fetishization of the arcade era and idealize arcadey games in the same way an arthoe idealizes say vinyl records, cause they're from "a different time", or boomers who who actually fetishize it, because they are stuck romanticizing their days as a kid in the fuckin 80s playing arcade games while Dad got drunk and mom slept around. Terrible genres, not a retro game in either genre worthy of actually playing without any nostalgia or fetitization

also, pic related, wtf was this garbage. i played both this and OOT for the first time this year and im starting to realize how fucking retarded some of you are. nostalgia is mind cancer for retro gaming and trying to get into it / find good shit. OOT was great but ALTTP was so unbelievably trash. awful music, terrible menuing, annoying shitty combat, easy as fuck dungeons. story and atmosphere are razor thin, it's an ugly zit in an otherwise fantastic library of snes games

Minish cap, links awakening, link between worlds, and the oracle games are all better than this.

This game is kind of... Meh. The world is kind of annoying when it comes to the routes you have to take to go back and forth between one area and another. The main soldier guys are annoying because they mindlessly rush you, take multiple hits, and even with the boomerang it's just an annoyance. As soon as you get the Pegasus boots you just try to run past everyone as fast as possible.

I was also surprised by how few secrets there are, especially in the dungeons. The writing is really bare bones, not much better than the original Zelda.

Decent gameplay, but with incredibly subpar spritework. It's hard to take a game seriously when everyone looks so goofy and my character looks like he's wearing a mumu instead of a tunic, really dampens the experience.
