No, I agree. I want a video game to look like a video game. Modern 3D just looks too "good" and it breaks my immersion. It's kind of uncanny valley. Low poly stuff is cute and has a deeply artistic appeal.

Art is never meant to look realistic. The best paintings to me look more unrealistic. It's what the brushstrokes represent and how they skillfully convey it, not how detailed the characters are.
