There's a certain kind of eerie atmosphere that I associate with a lot of the muted textures in the overworld. EarthBound is a lot of things, but it never feels quite as ominous, at least not in such a grounded sense. The prologue of this game does an excellent job of bringing character to the world. I also enjoy the school settings here, and its one of the reasons I like Loid more than Jeff. Ana and Paula are equally great. Poo is one of the most interesting characters, and Teddy's presence is appreciated but not felt as strongly.

Anyway, Giygas's ship is insane. I love that sequence of it rising, and of course everything before with Eve and LA was the highlight.
