I think all the Mega Man games are pretty good but there's a lot of people here who say 4 is the best one...and it really isn't. I just played it again yesterday and while I'm sympathetic to some of the praise for it... it has by far, the worst fortress stages. The Wily fortress stages in particular are lame and unmemorable and the bosses across both fortresses are dogshit and just not fun at all to fight. It's less of an issue nowadays but the fact that the passwords only take you halfway through the game really sucks as well.

Anyone else find this one to be hard?
I'm playing through them all for the first time and the first three were honestly easy as piss. People say 1 and 3 were hard but I had no trouble with them. Even heard people say 2 is the hardest but that was the easiest

Why did this game turn out so shitty? It punishes you for not using their fancy new charged shot, which does 3x the damage, but now every enemy takes 3x as many hits as they did in MM2 & MM3. It’s incredibly annoying because you have to hold down a second button the entire game while you’re trying to jump around, and the constant whining sound it makes is just headache inducing. I can beat most classic Mega Man games practically in my sleep. Never even been able to make it past the Robot Masters in this one. I hated it when I was a kid and I hate it every time I try to play it again.

>enemies have bland movement/attack patterns that really serve as no threat in and of themselves
>90% instead serve as excuses for things to pop on screen to bump you into insta-death pits or spikes
