Honestly I'd recommend emulating and then if you really want an "authentic" experience later you can invest in some hardware and buy the games you really liked. Some will disagree but having grown up with this stuff when it was new I think emulating is mostlt better anyways and will give you fast access to far more games which will let you find the stuff you really like more easily ( don't just rely on what's popular) and you will have a much better time over all.
