So I played it. I wish I had remembered to take screenshots, so take this instead.

And it was really really cool. It's probably one of the most atmospheric and bleak feeling maps I've ever played. I love the gray, dark cloudy sky, and the haunting, gloomy ambient track, along with the generous use of pale dark grass and growth, and mud, a lot of the map feels really natural and lifelike in a sense, even though it's done in Doom, like I really was out in the forest/sticks/bush, searching, traveling, fighting monsters.
The urban/industrial complex parts, and the powerplant parts, have a lot of detail put into them, it's all very convincing.

If it wasn't for the massive processor hog it already is, I'd almost suggest a rain effect or something, to seal the deal 100%

Has the author done anything else? I loved it.
My only complaint is two-fold, that it's very memory intensive, there's lots and lots and LOTS of Things used as undergrowth, shrubbery and grass, it looks great, but it's really taxing on ones processor, and the other is that it's easy to get lost, and hard to figure out where you're supposed to go. Initially, this isn't the biggest problem, as you'd be so busy just exploring the map anyway, it's incredibly detailed and clever, and you'll spend at least an hour or two on the whole thing.

I figure, maybe if the maps were split up into Hubs or something, it would be less draining, because it's a HUMONGOUS fucking map, it's easily as big as all of E1 put together. I only played on HNTR because I figure any more monsters and I couldn't actually play it with my laptop (and I guess with less monsters, it made the map feel more lonely and gloomy).
