I've been playing through Shadow Tower recently. Apart from the durability system, I've been really enjoying it so far. You can see the foundations of the Souls games in it, along with King's Field. The red signs, for instance, are found in it on walls and such. Reviews were not kind to this game in general.

I found out this game in an interesting way. I played it back in 99 from a demo disc, but for many years didn't know the name of it, until a couple months back. Dark Souls had some sounds that I thought were familiar, specifically in the menu when selecting/canceling, so I searched From's library and found it through luck.
