Obnoxious grinding aside, what do we think of Itoi's first masterpiece?

Serious question, when you're playing extremely grind-heavy games is it acceptable to use light experience cheats? Obviously not something ridiculous like multiplying your experience by 16x or whatever, but something more reasonable like 1.5x or 2x, sort of like how the Easy Ring hack works in Mother 1. The way I see it, you're not skipping over an important part of the game, since for the most part grinding doesn't take skill, it just wastes time by forcing you to do the same menial task over and over. And since it's a subtle boost, it doesn't mean you can just pummel every enemy with one shot, you still actually have to fight. You just spend less time on the boring parts, so in a way it makes for a more "streamlined" experience. Or at least, that's how it feels to me.

What are your thoughts on this?
