Yes, but CRT display technology and real hardware instead of emulation is still based.

At buying software. I'll keep a few neat boxed games around that I like or find at a good price but besides that I load everything through Everdrives or ODE's, or in the case of my Win98 gaming PC I just load CD ISO's from Daemontools or used cracked/DRM-free installs.

I don't really care either way. Pic-related has made coomlecting obsolete to me and I'd honestly prefer paypigs to keep the prices up while I sell off my collection before the save batteries die.

Original hardware is great when it's viable to those seeking it out, especially with flash carts, ODE's, or even MISTers and CRT's.

Shit's gotten prohibitively expensive and harder to get into over the years though, and if I hadn't already been building a strong collection over the last 16-17 years I would just use emulators exclusively by now, which is why I don't blame anyone for going that route.

I regret not getting a legit NES Everdrive though, the chink clone has some glaring issues but it plays most all official games well enough at-least.
