You light the lighter and hold it for about ten seconds, then extinguish it and rub it around a sticker on your cartridge to heat up the glue just a bit. Then the sticker should come off without leaving much residue.

You DO NOT apply the actual flame to the cartridge. Anything else warm could potentially work, like the exhaust fan from your PC or a central air heating vent, etc, etc.
