A new Duke game would be awesome.
It needs competent writers who don't follow whatever modern trend to make a joke,it will become awfully dated then.
Also when it comes to dark humor,politically incorrect,put the right dose of it,not too little or much.because it would feel obnoxious or out of place.

In the end in terms of gameplay,just go for something like Doom 4 did but high level of interactivity.
What DNF did was interactive world first,gameplay later.

If they want to make a Duke game,it needs to be for the fans first and not for a wider audience or else we get another mess.

And possibly less than 10 years to make,not even Star Citizen level of development hell,just don't skip an entire gen.
