Quake3:
>At the highest difficulty setting certain bots wreck your shit. Xaero, Major, Orbb, Hunter, Doom are a few of that bunch
>Smooth movement, exploitable traditional physics, you get better as you get experienced
>Made out quite a name with online tournaments, competitive play and pure action gameplay
>Shitload of modifications, movement and rules made by the modding community
>Tried to be a team based game with Team Arena, came out unbalanced. Tried to resurrect itself with QL years later, but it ended up being a miserable pile of shit which caused even UT to laugh from its grave

UT99:
>Besides Locque and Xan, none of the bots offer a challenge or has memorable unique weapon priorities
>Dashes and double jump available for all players at the start you don't need any experience to learn to use them
>I don't remember much about competitive UT'99, company sure failed to market its gameplay or never minded that
>Most major modifications are embed in the game with mutators already, which actually ending up killing the need of new mods and exploration
>Before it can take a breathe buried under the ground by UT2k series which made it a balanced team based game which played with tanks and personal carriers

>Conclusion:
UT:
>Lack of competitive FFA matches, took the flag with creative teamplay modes. Probably because of being overshadowed by Cowl of Doody and Canteen Shwike, it get buried rather quickly. Took a big turn with 2k series successfully balanced teamplay, yet with Cowl of Doge: Black Cops and Canteen Shwike followed with new-old faces.
Q3:
>Perfected the FFA games with pure mechanics, allowed players to put their experience on the table to abuse a timid arena shooter to make it a raw adrenaline shooter. but sucked up the major dick with team based camos like Team Arena. Still managed to flaunt for a whole decade without taking the competition of CoD and CS.

I voted for Q3A, QL sucks dick and they never gonna get balance the Team Arena mode
