I cannot go through a single playthrough of Dynamite Headdy without losing at least one life to this two-faced bastard...

The Sega Megadrive was the first home console I owned, and I guess I played all the standard games on it, but sometimes you get that occasional game that no-one seems to have ever heard of. Everyone you meet who's into games, you ask them if they've played this great game and they don't know it.

For me that game was Dynamite Headdy. It's my favourite platformer of all time, and I'm sure there must be people on /vr/ who have played it too.

For those who aren't familiar, Dynamite Headdy is a sort of proto-Rayman. Your main weapon is your head, which you fling at enemies, and which can grip on to things as you jump through the air, so you can use it to climb and swing, and you can change your head into various different heads that have different functions: one is a bomb, one is a grappling hook for scaling walls, one is a rocket for flying, one is a hammerhead for hitting and busting metal objects etc.

The game has a really unique feel in that there are no stock level designs or boring runs involving jumping across endless platforms and jumping on enemies. Every level is an original gameplay experience, often based around the gigantic array of weird bosses, which start off hard, and get more and more crazy as the game progresses

Anyone else love this game?

Also if anyone has a copy of the Secret Bonus Point tribute album, let me know, it seems to have disappeared from the internet.
