I loved the idea, as DOOM can hold thousands of monsters, perfect for the scale.

I did an art style test out of curiosity, and that was pretty much it (other than some decorate A.I tests). The project would be too huge, even with a group of wadders working together

I just want to do smaller solo projects, and hope Eternal Crusade is good enough

I know about that, and I do want some directions. I just don't think I need all 8 directions for a wad with this simple style, it's extra work that is only going to cause more stress.
Pretty much the reason I didn't want to finish my warhammer 40'000 wad, it's too big a scale with 8 directions per sprite (I should leave this series for Eternal crusade)

I wanted to work on a Warhammer 40'000 wad in the past, I wanted to play around with another try, but keep the graphics more simple for easier frames and faster production.

Do you think the project could work like this?
