That's exactly the sound direction I wanted--an anime dub voice, sounding right out of a late 90s/early 00s show. The overall theme of the mod is a love-letter back to retro entertainment, and I seriously lucked out in getting a VA that nails that sound perfectly.
Besides, Hae-Lin isn't supposed to be a major badass--she thinks of herself as just a girl who happened to stumble into a great position through sheer chance, not that she's anyone special or powerful. There's too many "hardcore" characters who scoff through every scenario with a snide one-liner to show just how too cool for school they are, I wanted a character who could go through a massive fight and then scream "OH MY GOD THAT WAS SO AWESOME".

has it. Group attacks as a whole are generally a no-go for any addition to the combo meter. It's already incredibly abusable to do a side special or a dash special into a crowd and suddenly hit S-rank, I'd really rather not even take a chance with group attacks for guns.
There's also the technical side of things--the way combo increase works is that the bullet on impact with the enemy gives inventory back to the player. Explosions are...very indirect, and have no way of notifying who got hit with what it.
