Definitely Quake 3. We play all the time at ffa.q3retro.com:27960. Update to v1.32 and install OSP. For a dead game, the population is concentrated in one or two servers at a majority of them are run by q3retro.com.

Quake 3 is still alive in 2021! Just listen to the based CROM anon and get regular Q3. Beyond CROM, the Retro servers are the most popular I've seen. I switch between CROM FFA and Retro FFA and play every day.
