>the seed of interest in id was firmly planted. fast forward over a decade
>bought Quake a year back when it was for sale for literal cents USD
>was generally sick to death of shooters at the time
>looked at the "effort" required to use a source port
>tried using the included steam ports (at the time) instead
>just say fuck that and move on without even playing
Well here comes this remake out of nowhere. I had ZERO idea that there was a remake in the works, and it's a damn good one at that. I don't even remember how I learned that I had received a remake for free. I can tell you why I don't know.
>play ten hours of the Quake remake in 2 days
>install trenchbroom
>spend 10 hours over the next 2 days in the editor
>so focused that I look down at my clock to see it's 6 AM two days in a row, without noticing the time had passed
I've had no sleep and a lot of fun. Guess I'm a mapper now.
