I dunno man honestly I can breeze through games like SMW and MMX with my eyes closed but still find World 5 and 6 of Yoshi's Island a decent challenge.

I know PS3 isn't retro but this is the only resource for CRT stuff on this site so grant a humble anon some information, friends.
I have a CRT that supports up to 1080i, but when I hook my PS3 up via component, none of the video options work except standard. Even if I only check 480p, my screen fucks up when testing the display. What causes this? Am I doing something wrong? Everything shows up perfectly fine on standard, but if my TV supports 1080i, why can't my PS3 go up to 720p or even 480p?
