what went wrong?

Found a cheap one on craigslist a few months ago, and have enjoyed the arcade ports quite a bit. Sometimes I think it gets slept on a bit. Near perfect 2600 back compatibility is cool too. Makes me wonder what could have been.

So I'm planning on investing into an Atari 7800.
I got the money, but I'm gonna wait till next week to check at garage sales, flea markets, etc. and if I don't get lucky, I'll just get it online.
So what's the point of this thread?
Well I was curious on the opinions of the people on /vr/ who own /play on Atari systems or have experiences with this system.
Things to consider like, oh I don't know, GAMES!
Things to look out for when it comes to checking the consoles quality, accessories, cables, wires, what times it's allowed to eat, etc.
